Go Barbless and Catch More!

I can actually catch more fish with a barbless hook than with the barb on the hook. I can take the fish off faster and I seem to get a hook in them better.

Take a pair of forceps that have a flat spot on both sides and smash the barbs on the Trout Magnet. Then, when you catch a fish, you can shake the trout around in the net and the lure will fall out. This means you do not even have to touch the fish.

I find it easier to get a hook in the fish without the barb too. Many get off during the fight but if you keep the line tight you should be able to keep the fish on and land it. If you catch the numbers of fish we do on the Magnet it just saves time and the trout’s mouth if you smash the barb down on the hook. Since the Trout Magnet hooks the trout on the top of the mouth it does not hurt the trout, but the barbless hook makes it even safer.
