"just a guy who likes to fish..."

I was introduced to Trout Magnets a few years ago by some friends. They said that the Trout Magnets really catch fish especially the pink ones. Well it took me a few months to try them, but as soon as I did I began to catch bigger fish at a higher frequency. The catching is what got my attention and the simplicity is what keeps me using them. Let me explain. Fishing Trout Magnets utilizes what I will term a “system” approach. This system is simple and easy to implement. Anyone can implement any part of this system or utilize the whole system and be successful in catching more and better trout. The only requirement that I would say that is vital, is the use of light line. Light line coupled with a rod that can cast the light line. When I speak of light line I am talking about 2lb test. 2lb test works especially well in the clear water conditions found on most trout streams. 4lb test line can be used where conditions warrant or if the water has a bit more color in it. Attached to my line I secure a 2 foot section of fluorocarbon to serve as an “invisible” leader so to speak. I attach my Trout Magnets to the end of the fluorocarbon using either an improved clinch knot or a Palomar knot. Approximately 12-18 inches above my Trout Magnet I pinch on a BB size split-shot. The split-shot and the Trout Magnet are fished below a small float which is adjusted to the depth of water I am fishing. That’s all there is to it.
I rotate thru the colors only when the catching slows or to adjust to changing water conditions… but I always start with pink. The colors found in the neon pack are great to get anyone started.
Fishing should be fun and fishing with Trout Magnets is fun. Anyone that has ever fished for panfish knows what I am talking about. Speaking of panfish, Trout Magnets work great on panfish. I like black and white Trout Magnets the best. I hope you will give this “system” approach to trout fishing a try, I have and I am glad that I did.
